The PNP has nothing to hide and is open to an investigation by the ICC into the Duterte administration’s war on drugs, says PNP chief Eleazar. For Eleazar, it may be transparent, but how about his predecessors?

Irked by mouth lashing from P-Duterte, an emotional Senator Gordon who heads the investigating Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Friday turned the tables on the chief executive saying,” You are not a president the Filipino people can respect, because you do not act like a president!”

On Wednesday last week, P-Duterte lambasted rich countries over their supposed “selfish” plan to give COVID vaccine booster shots to their citizens as many poor nations suffer from uneven distribution of the vaccines. This was delivered in a pre-recorded meeting with members of the UN General Assembly. The trillions of pesos dubiously spent on the war against COVID-19 would have been enough to buy billions of vaccine doses early this year, but a slow response and a purchase order was the call at that time. But, why is the president blaming other countries for the lack of COVID vaccines at this point in time? Too bad, for such a reaction from a president of a country. Blame his government and that’s all!

In that meeting, P-Duterte even told the UN General Assembly (UNGA) that law enforcers who acted “beyond bounds” of the law in his deadly war on drugs would be held accountable. This is a surprise turn-around on his previous statements that he would not let any investigation happen in his harsh war on drugs. Too good to be true!

Smarting from insults of social media bashers from antis regarding her almost regular absence from the mayor’s office, Mayor Angeline “Sweet” Halili (MASH) blasted back saying she can not be seen inside the office always but she can always be seen outside roaming around Tanauan City’s barangays and extending help to people in need to alleviate their plight. She added that it is better to be seen in pictures outside giving relief aids than being seen the whole day sitting inside the office savoring the refreshing aircon.

Exhausted nurses in the country are struggling to care for patients as their colleagues contract COVID or quit the profession that was dangerously gone under-staffed even before the pandemic. The country now is enduring a record rise in infections, fueled by the Delta variants with the Health department reporting a nursing shortfall of more than 10,000 forcing those left to work long hours for little pay and often precarious short-term contracts. It’s really obvious, they are tired and burned out with little benefit and little salary.

P-Duterte in his Talk To The People public briefing Wednesday night said he admitted that corruption in the government really exists. However, he clarified that is not at the level of his cabinet officials. At least he now confesses and admits corruption in the government, but there is nothing he can do but mouth lashes them and no legal actions. How is that?

Yellow ribbons will be used to tag households in Pateros confirmed to have COVID -19 patients and placed under localized lockdowns, Pateros mayor Miguel Ponce said. The yellow ribbons will be tied or placed by barangay officials where a house under granular lockdown is located. For easy identification, the barangay chairman is the one assigned to tie the ribbon. At the start of the Christmas countdown, it is not now tying a yellow ribbon on an old oak tree but in the house of the COVID victim.
