MANILA — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) held its one-day special passport processing for personnel of Philippine National Police (PNP) early this morning at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center in Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City.
PNP Chief Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar through the initiative of Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) under the supervision of Police Major General Bartolome R Bustamante, DPCR Director, formally opened the one-day event to allow police personnel to have access to passport services without leaving the camp.
This joint PNP-DFA initiative is in line with the current “Passport on Wheels” (PoW) program of DFA which aims to extend its efforts in serving efficient and quality public service by making consular services more accessible and convenient to the public.
Prior to the main activity, a short program was graced by the presence of Ms. Hannah Ingrid Menia, DFA-PoW Representative together with other DFA personnel.
Approximately, a total of 170 pre-registrants PNP Crame base personnel signified and grabbed the opportunity to avail the said one-day passport processing.
Passport on Wheels is a service from the DFA, a nationwide move that promotes ease of doing business and aims to assist thousands of Filipinos daily especially during this time of the pandemic. (ai/mtvn)
