MANILA — Cordillera police raided three clandestine marijuana farms in Sadanga, Mountain Province on Thursday and destroyed the cannabis plants estimated to be worth P30.4-million.
PNP Chief, Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T Eleazar said that the three plantation sites with a total land area of 15,200 square meters were discovered in separate locations in Sitio Paras, Barangay Saclit, Sadanga.
Citing reports from Police Brigadier General Ronald Lee, Cordillera PNP Regional Director, the Chief PNP said that a total of 152,000 fully-grown marijuana plants were destroyed in the three clandestine farms.
All of the uprooted marijuana plants were burned on site except for a few samples that were submitted to the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office in Bontoc for qualitative examination.
An investigation is now underway to identify the owners and maintainers of the marijuana farms. (ai/mtvn)
