MANILA — The Highway Patrol Group (HPG) gave recognition to notable individuals and public servants in the recent awarding ceremony of the Master Rider and Senior Master Rider Badge on September 29, 2021, for their roles in the various Road Safety programs of the HPG.

Among the awardees were House of Representative Secretary General Mark Llandro “Dong” Mendoza, MMDA Assistant Secretary and Spokesperson, Celine Pialago, OWWA Deputy Executive Director, Esther Margaux “Mocha” Uson, and showbiz personality Mr. Zoren Legaspi.

As a tradition during awarding ceremonies, the HPG Master Rider badge was personally pinned by the HPG Director, Police Brigadier General Alexander Camilon Tagum, with the assistance of other key officers of the HPG in attendance.

The said badge is awarded to alumni of the HPG Motorcycle Rider’s Course who achieved a total of 5,000 ridden kilometers, which was accorded to the said awardees for their invaluable and proactive contribution to the HPG’s Motorcycle Riding and Road Safety Advocacy.

HPG Director PBGen Tagum said, the HPG’s goal of promoting responsible motorcycle riding and road safety awareness nationwide gains significant mileage with the selfless support of their partners who happen to be fellow passionate motorcycle riders. “They did not only complete our Rider’s Course, but also proved themselves worthy to be called Master Riders. Our awardees have gone above and beyond their duties to help us spread the right rider’s mentality to our nation’s motorcycle riders and road users.” He added. (ai/mtnv)
