DPWH says 2 nat’l roads remain closed due to ‘Lannie’

MANILA – Two national road sections in two regions are currently closed to traffic while two roads have limited access due to flooding and landslide brought by Tropical Depression Lannie, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Tuesday.

In its update, the agency said as of 6 a.m., the Sigma Mambusao Jamindan Road in Mambusao, Capiz is impassable due to floods.

Another road closure was reported along Wright-Taft-Borongan Road in Eastern Samar due to landslide and rockfall.

Motorists from Tacloban City bound for Borongan City via the Wright-Taft Road may take the Junction Buenavista-Lawaan-Marabut Road as an alternate route.

Meanwhile, roads with only one lane passable include the Tagbilaran East Road-Jagna-Sierra Bullones Road in Mayana, Jagna, Bohol due to road slip and Cebu-Toledo Wharf Road, in Barangay Camp 4, Manipis, Talisay City, Cebu due to soil erosion.

DPWH Secretary Mark Villar has ordered the reactivation of Quick Response Teams in Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas and Caraga.

At least 3,080 personnel with 404 equipment are on call to ensure access along national roads. (PNA)
