Mago’s recantation another failed attempt at frustrating Senate probe on COVID funds anomalies, says De Lima

MANILA — Senator Leila De Lima on Tuesday said the recent recantation
of Ms. Krizle Grace Mago’s testimony is just another failed attempt
at frustrating the Senate investigation on the irregularities in the
COVID-19 related purchases of the DOH and the PS-DBM.

In truth, she added, that it is not unexpected.

De Lima said that the hearings conducted by the Senate Blue Ribbon
Committee these past few weeks have been nothing but informative and
illuminating.

Thus, she added that it is, of course, not surprising that those at
the wrong end of this huge exposé will attempt to throw a monkey
wrench at the process.

Pharmally,” she added.

PPE at testing kits. Dahil wala silang kakayahan, napilitan silang
lady senator said.

She said that aside from these, it was revealed during the course of
the investigation the delivered products such as the test kits were
nearly expired in violation of the specifications mandated by law.

Spontaneous at
pag-bawi niya ng kaniyang testimonya,” the former justice secretary
said.

De Lima said that there is no doubt that the Filipino people are
prejudiced by the irregular transactions and undue partiality given to
Pharmally and its apparent benefactor, Michael Yang.

“Now Duterte is using his political machinery to attack the Senate
investigators, the Senators, and even tamper with the witnesses,” she
stressed.

“Kung wala silang ginawang mali, bakit guilty sila gumalaw? Bakit
Bakit
kailangan mag-tamper ng mga witness?, ”she added.

“The Philippines right now has no President. Duterte is busy lawyering
for Michael Yang and Pharmally and campaigning for his VP candidate,”
De Lima ended. (ai/mtvn)
