A TUPAD beneficiary in Cabadbaran City with her baby

CABADBARAN City — The people of CARAGA or Region 13 was thankful for the visit of Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III here on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.
Bello and his delegation include DOLE Undersecretaries Renato Ebarle and Benjo Santos M. Benavidez; OWWA Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Directors Karen P. Trayvilla, and Ria S. Lano; and Mika Czarina Cabalonga.
The delegation’s first stop was Butuan City and welcomed by DOLE CARAGA headed by its Regional Director Joffey Suyao after which they have had their sumptuous breakfast at the Almont Hotel’s Inland Resort with RCC Heads, DOLE Caraga Officials, and local government executives.
From Butuan City, Bello and the party traveled for almost 30 minutes to Cabadbaran City and the Labor Secretary led the TUPAD payout to 170 beneficiaries from its six barangays.
Each of them received P4,800 while there were overseas Filipino workers who stopped from their job abroad received P20,000.
Two of the recipients of the P4,800 TUPAD payout were Mira and Mark who were discharged from their work abroad due to the pandemic.
“Maraming salamat po kay Secretary Bello,” Mark and Mira said to Maharlika TV.
The TUPAD payout was held in Cabadbaran City Gymnasium and was witnessed by its Mayor Judy Amante, Congw. Ma. Angelica Rosedell Amante-Matba, Gov, Dale Cordova, and other LGU officials.
In his speech, Bello assures TUPAD beneficiaries of the help of the government.
“Para sa inyo ang perang iyan na galing din naman sa inyo, sana ay makatulong ang halagang iyan sa inyo,” Bello said in Filipino language.
After having lunch, the party returned to Butuan City for the awarding of cash aid or TUPAD payout.
Exactly 4 PM, they boarded back the plane for their last leg of the day of which another TUPAD payout to the people of Pagadian City was conducted.
The following day, October 6, Bello and his group bring TUPAD to Zamboanga City as they are warmly greeted by the men and officers of DOLE Zamboanga and local executives of the city.
Bello said, his visit to CARAGA and Zamboanga was a success seeing those who benefitted from the community-based package of assistance makes his heart flutter. (ai/mtvn)
