BATANGAS City – The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) and City Engineers Office (CEO) in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) have started dredging operations in Sta. Clara River to prevent flooding along the main thoroughfares of the city.

According to CDRRMO Officer Rod Dela Roca, the Sta. Clara river serves as the only outlet of water from the city.

The residents vowed to do their part by preventing the disposal of garbage into the river.

The dredging operation was started on October 4, 2021. (AI/MTVN)
