MANILA — Senator Grace Poe on Tuesday said that mass transportation
such as the Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) should not just be
COVID-19-free, it must also be accident-free.
In a statement, Poe said that our people expect the government to
alleviate their transport woes amid the pandemic by sustaining the
safe operation of public transport like the MRT.
“We’ve seen that even during a pandemic, our public transportation has
remained the backbone of sustainable mobility which is essential to
economic recovery,” Poe said.
She added that alongside touted big-ticket projects, the maintenance
of the trains must be a critical part of government operations no
“Buhay ng ating mga kababayan ang nakataya dito,” she ended. (ai/mtvn)
