Manila -– The Land Transportation Office (LTO) encouraged the public to report erring drivers and motorists through their “MAGING INFORM-CER” Program which was launched recently to help rid the streets of traffic lawbreakers.
According to the LTO, traffic enforcers are not always on the scene to apprehend violators that’s why it is empowering netizens to help and inform the agency of motorists violating the law.
The “Maging Inform-cer” program introduced three ways to report a traffic incident.
First, a citizen may send a report to the LTO’s official social media page, including the official social media pages of their regional offices.
Second, is through email – firstname.lastname@example.org. And third, calling the hotline 1-342-586 or use the CitiSend app.
Before sending in a report, the agency request that “inform-cers” include valuable information such as a description of the incident, vehicle details (make/model/color and plate/conduction number), and the location and time of the incident took place to identify the traffic violator easier.
A video or photo of the incident will also be very helpful.
With the involvement of the public, the LTO said that incidents of violations in the streets will have more coverage.
So, before committing a traffic violation, think twice, as there may be someone who is recording your every move. (ai/mtvn)
