MANILA — “SALUDO AKO SA INYO!”
This was the heartfelt message of Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur M. Tugade during his speech as he greeted the men and women of the Philippine Coast Guard during the PCG’s celebration of their 120th Founding Anniversary on October 15, 2021, where he was the guest of honor of the event.
“Ito na ang huling pagkakataon ko na magce-celebrate tayo ng huling Founding Anniversary ng Philippine Coast Guard at ngayon araw na ito, by the last 5 years that we’ve been together MINAHAL KO KAYO at continually, MINAMAHAL KO KAYO,” Tugade stated.
“When we celebrate anniversaries, it is an opportunity for you to ‘LOOK BACK’ and change what we can correct, and we can improve on. It is an opportunity for us to ‘LOOK-UP’ and tell to Almighty, ‘Lord Almighty, continue to guide us because without your help, without your grace, wala kaming patutunguhan’. It is an opportunity to ‘LOOK FORWARD’, whatever we have now don’t be complacent, you must improve what you have now because that’s part of growing and growing,” he added.
Various modern equipment and high-powered firearms were showcased that will be used in safeguarding the maritime waters of the archipelago including communication equipment and lifesaving gears for rescue at reliefs operations. (ai/mtvn)
