BIR -East Makati padlocks Tax Code non-compliant telco during Oplan Kandado activity

MANILA — The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)-East Makati or Revenue District Office 47 has padlocked a telecom provider company on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
The Oplan Kandado activity was spearheaded by Revenue District Officer Rufo B. Ranario together with his Assistant RDO Fidel V. Calvan, ARD Rodrigo Rivamonte, and Chief, Assessment Section (CAS) Marjorie Ando.

Rufo, his officials, and staff padlocked the main office of Mobicon Network with an address at Rufino Pacific Tower in Makati City.

Calvan explained to Maharlika TV that they implemented a closure order because of the said taxpayer for non-compliance of Section115 of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997 and failure, refusal, and/ or neglect.

The BIR official also said that the taxpayer was given five days to comply and they will allow reopening their office.

For the record, the company, Mobicon is a provider of telecom implementation solutions and offers network optimization and planning, field maintenance, outsourcing and consultancy, rollout services, and more.

The BIR officials clarified that the company communicated with them and expressed that they will comply with the requirements.
“They are cooperative, and reached us now,” Ranario said.

Ranario reminds all the taxpayers to comply with the tax code to evade closures.

Oplan Kandado is an enforcement program of the BIR which involves the imposition of administrative sanctions such as suspension and temporary closure of business for non-compliance with requirements. (ai/mtvn)
