MANILA — The Pasig Community Precinct Police Station has conducted a BarangaYanihan Clean-up Drive and tree-planting activity in cooperation with the students of Asia Academic Integrated School (Muslim brothers and sisters) led by Ustadz Abdulcahar I Abdulcarim at Ferrer Compound, Urbano Velasco Rd. Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City last Friday (22 Oct 2021).
Held in consonance with the PNP core values “MAKAKALIKASAN,” the clean-up drive was spearheaded by Pasig CPS personnel led by PEMS Rocard C Acorda (Deputy Chief, SCAS) under the supervision of PLt Catherine Deligente (OIC, SCAS) and the able leadership of PCol Roman C. Arugay (Chief of Police of this Station).
The Clean-Up Drive aims to promote Environmental Protection to boost the existing government program relative to environmental development programs and cleanliness of the environment.
The activity was also participated by other stakeholders and from the community itself.
The objective of the PNP is to set an example for the people for them to be conscious regarding proper waste management and make it a form of habit to maintain the cleanliness of their surroundings.
“Let us unite as one for the protection and preservation of our environment. The future of our nature depends on our actions today. Let us learn proper waste management for us to have a cleaner, safer place to live, work and do business,” Arugay said.
The BarangaYanihan program was iniated by Police Community Relations under the leadership of Maj. Gen. Bartolome Bustamante and implemented by Police Community Affairs and Development Group headed by Brig. Gen. Eric Noble. (ai/mtvn)
