MANILA – Senior citizens and children are now allowed at the Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino de Cebu starting this week.

In a Facebook post on Friday, the Basilica announced that individuals over 65 years old, who are fully vaccinated are permitted to enter the church starting October 27.

On the other hand, children are also allowed inside the church but should be accompanied by a fully vaccinated companion.

“Children are now allowed to enter inside the Basilica but should be accompanied by fully vaccinated parents/guardians,” it said.

It also reminded the public to bring their vaccination cards as proof that they have received two doses of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

“Also, please be reminded to follow the safety protocols implemented in the Basilica,” it added.

On Friday, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) said the province of Cebu, including Cebu City, will remain under Alert Level 2 until November 14.

Under Alert Level 2, the second most relaxed of the five-tier system, religious gatherings are allowed at 50 percent venue capacity. (PNA)
