MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has made F2 Logistics Philippines, Incorporated its official logistics arm in the May 9, 2022, national and local elections.
F2 Logistics’ contract involves distribution nationwide of ballots, vote-counting machines, and other supplies before the May 9 elections.
The P536 million contract with the cargo forwarder that has links with Davao-based businessman Dennis Uy was signed by Comelec Chairman Sheriff Abas ang F2 president Efren Uy on Oct. 29.
A copy of the contract was posted on Sunday on Comelec’s website.
The Comelec said F2 Logistics will be responsible for the delivery of all automated election system-related equipment, forms, and supplies not only for the elections but for field tests.
It will also deploy to and fro the central warehouse the vote-counting machines (VCM), consolidation or canvassing system machines, transmission devices, VCM external batteries; generator sets, and other election paraphernalia.
F2 will also be responsible for the transmittal of official ballots, ballot boxes, election forms and supplies, training materials and computerized voters’ lists to be used on election day.
The Comelec also added that F2 will also provide and secure provincial warehouses or local hubs for the VCMs prior to their scheduled distribution to polling centers. (ai/mtvn)
