MANILA — The Cotabato City-based Special Mission Aviation (Aeroscout) Company of the Army Aviation Regiment successfully conducted back-to-back leadership transport missions to Sulu and Tawi-Tawi last week.

Two Army aviators, piloting a Cessna 172 plane, transported Army Artillery (King of Battle) Regiment Commander Brig. Gen. Romulo Manuel Jr. from Zamboanga City to Jolo, Sulu and back. The Army Artillery Regiment Commander graced the anniversary of the 8th Field Artillery Battalion on the same day.

The Aeroscout Company also transported Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Transportation Minister Dickson Hermoso from Zamboanga City to Tawi-Tawi and back on October 26, 2021.

The transport of key leaders is one of the capabilities of the Philippine Army Aviation (Hiraya) Regiment. Regular transport missions demonstrate the growing capability of Army aviators in providing rapid response to aerial requirements of ground operating units, especially field unit commanders.
