‘Back to (almost) normal’ for PUJs

It’s back to normal, almost, to public utility jeepneys as “Mamang Tsuper” strips down the plastic barriers that he installed inside his jeepney at the height of the pandemic scourge as a pre-condition for them to be allowed to ply their routes.

But with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid and the Department of Transportation allowing them to increase passenger capacity to up to 70 percent this month, it’s time for jeepney drivers at Tandang Sora jeepney terminal in Quezon City to dismantle the plastic barriers in their respective jeepneys.

However, some drivers preferred to keep the see-thru barriers as they await the official protocol declaration of the IATF on public transportation.
