Tacurong Covid-19 isolation facility records zero admission

COTABATO CITY – The coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) isolation facility in Tacurong City has recorded “zero” admissions in the past two days, its Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) said Tuesday.

“All admitted patients of Crown V isolation center have recovered, discharged from the facility, and sent home by city health front liners,” Tacurong Mayor Lino Montilla said in a statement Tuesday.

He also announced that Covid-19 infections in the city continue to drop with the number of vaccinated residents rising.

To date, a total of 30,587 individuals have been fully vaccinated in the city, which comprised 76 percent of the target population of people 18 years old and above.

The Crown-V Center is the primary isolation facility in Tacurong City that caters to Covid-19 asymptomatic or those with mild symptoms.

“Since Monday, all the rooms are vacant and disinfection is being done,” the city mayor said.

With this, Montilla reiterated his appeal for the residents to continue observing physical distancing, wear facemask at all times, and wash hands regularly.

In a separate statement, Dr. Aristides Conception-Tan, DOH-12 director, said the Crown-V Center located in Barangay Upper Katunggal serves as a model facility in the region.

“The facility [Crown-V] is indeed very beautiful and worth emulating in the region. This is an example of how the Bayanihan grant was rightly used,” he said.

Tan said while others have used such funds for food and transportation, the Tacurong government was able to build a PHP5.24-million, 28-room isolation facility that can still be used for years to come.

According to the 2020 census, Tacurong City has a population of 109,319 people. (PNA)
