TUGUEGARAO City, Cagayan – An American learned a bitter lesson not to tell a bomb joke while inside an airport.

He was immediately nabbed by Tuguegarao Airport Police yesterday (Friday) after stating about a bomb to aircraft personnel while undergoing a baggage check.

According to Maj. Junvie Velasco, Chief of Tuguegarao City Police Airport, the foreigner identified as George Adrien Favarielle of New Jersey, USA, said that there is a bomb in their luggage while Cebu Pacific personnel are conducting their routinary baggage inspection.

Favarielle was immediately arrested by authorities and was brought to Tuguegarao City PNP and was accompanied by his wife Rowena Pascua, who told authorities that they came from Gonzaga to attend her mother’s birthday and were on their way also to America yesterday.

His bail was set at P30,000.

Chief Velasco added that a bomb joke is not a good witticism and is not a laughing matter, especially when you are in an airport because it is a violation of the “Anti-Bomb Joke Law” and it also causes undue inconvenience to other passengers. (ai/mtvn)
