Bello distributes TUPAD payouts in 2 Bulacan towns on Saturday

MANILA — At least 734 beneficiaries received cash assistance on Saturday (06 Nov 2021) in San Miguel, Bulacan through the Department of Labor and Employment’s TUPAD program where some members of the LGBT groups and people with disabilities (PWDs) also benefitted.

The TUPAD beneficiaries received at least P4,200 each for 10 days of work rendered under DOLE’s temporary employment program to alleviate the plight of people displaced amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The San Miguel, Bulacan stop comprised 49 barangays at 10 individuals apiece, who were chosen or strictly screened and qualified for the program of DOLE.

Labor Secretary Bebot Bello distributed the TUPAD payouts assisted by Bulacan 3rd District Congw Lorna Silverio, San Miguel Mayor Roderick Tiongzon, Vice Mayor Bong Alvarez and council members.

Meanwhile, in the San Ildefonso swing, Sec. Bello was ably assisted by Mayor Carla Galvez in distributing TUPAD payouts of some 540 beneficiaries who expressed their gratitude after the labor chief jacked up their cash assistance to P5,000.

Members of the LGBT sector and PWDs received bicycles and a bag containing a cellphone with P5,000 load.

TUPAD is short for Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be done.
