Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., lauded the government for placing Metro Manila in a more relaxed alert level 2 status hoping that it will restore economic vitality and create more jobs.
In a statement, Marcos said this was his earlier call to the government to open businesses to recover and revive the country’s economy.
“Nagpapasalamat po tayo sa pamahalaan sa mas maluwag na alert level status, dahil nakasisiguro tayo na mas marami itong make-create na trabaho at muli nang makakabawi ang ating ekonomiya,” Marcos said in a statement.
It will be recalled that the country’s unemployment rate rose to 8.9 percent in September 2021, which is considered the highest this year.
“Umaasa tayo na marami pang negosyo ang magbubukas dahil sa maluwag na alert status at mas marami ang lumalabas na tao para tangkilikin ang mga negosyo,” Marcos said.
At the same time, Marcos called on the public to continue to follow health protocols despite the relaxation of the alert status in the country.
He also said that the public should not be complacent even though the number of victims of Covid-19 continues to decline.
“Let us go on with our lives, but let us still wear our face masks, let us always wash our hands and follow the health standard of our government. Let’s fight Covid-19 together, ”Marcos stressed.
Marcos also called on the government to continue to strengthen public vaccination because it is still the most effective weapon to eradicate the virus.
According to the latest Department of Health (DOH) records, more than 63 million people have been vaccinated by the government nationwide. Currently, more than 600,000 people are vaccinated every day in the country and it is targeted to reach one million people per day.
“Matagal na po kaming kaisa ng pamahalaan at nang nakararami na itong pagbabakuna ang pinaka-matibay nating sandata laban sa Covid,” said Marcos.
