A joint operation conducted with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Visayas in Sitio Grass Avenue, Barangay Basak, Cebu City, last November 13, 2021, led to the arrest of ARNEL VELORIA, 40, a carpenter.

Another operation, in Bohol, resulted in the arrest of a high-value individual identified as ARIEL BOISER ESTING, 38, a resident of Barangay Ubujan, Tagbilaran City.

In a statement, PBGen Roque Eduardo Dela Peña Vega, PRO7 Regional Director said, “I commend the operating units of PRO7 in a successful buy-bust operation conducted early morning today”.

Appropriate charges will be filed against the suspects for violation of Sec 5 and 11 of Article II of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, Cebu City Police Chief Colonel Josefino Ligan said more drug operations and confiscations are slated in the next few days.

The easing of protocols is expected to increase the supply of illegal drugs that enter the local market.

Ligan said that there would be a huge opportunity for drug personalities to take advantage of the downgraded quarantine status.

Cebu City is now placed under Alert Level 2, along with the entire province of Cebu. (ai/mtvn)
