126 party-list applicants denied by Comelec — Guanzon

MANILA — Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon on Wednesday said the Commission on Elections rejected at least 126 party-list group applicants for the 2022 elections.

Guanzon announced this Wednesday afternoon on her Twitter post.

“126 applicants for Party List registration were denied by Comelec,” the commissioner said on here social media post.

However, the full list of the party-list applicants that were denied by the Comelec from joining in the May 9 2022 national and local elections is not yet available.

The Comelec said a total of 270 party-list groups have filed their certificates of nomination and acceptance during the week-long filing from October 1-8, 2021.

So this means that only 144 party-list groups only made it into the list of qualified and certified applicants in the 2022 national and local elections.

At least 63 party-list seats are up for grabs in the poll exercise next year.
