PILILLA, Rizal D2 — Congressional aspirant Omar Fajardo for Rizal’s new second congressional district is gaining momentum.

This is after at least 21 servant leaders from Rizal’s new Second District League of Pastors threw their unwavering support to his candidacy in a cooperation meeting Tuesday, 16 November 2021 in Pililla, Rizal.

Headed by Pastor Eric Ngayong-Owan, the pledging of the League of Pastors’ support for Omar Fajardo, a former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) party-list Representative, was formalized over a simple luncheon at the Bulawan Floating Restaurant in Pilillia.

The town of Pililla is only one of the seven (7) local government units making up the New Second District of Rizal which was created under Republic Act 11533 signed by President Duterte last March 25, 2021.

The new law states that Rizal’s new second district will retain the municipalities of (1) Cardona, (2) Baras, (3) Tanay, (4) Morong, (5) Jala-Jala, (6) Pililla, and (7) Teresa.

RA 11533 also established the municipality of San Mateo as the third (3rd) legislative district and the municipality of Rodriguez as the fourth (4th) legislative district of Rizal province.

A resident of Tanay, Cong. Omar Fajardo hopes to bring a new brand of politics into the new second district of Rizal that is pro-people, an industrialized economy in the new legislative district, further promoting a booming local eco-tourism among others.

Healthcare, education, and more livelihood opportunities are also on Fajardo’s to-do list or platform of candidacy.

“We will introduce a new brand of politics into the second district of Rizal that truly cares because “Omar Fajardo Cares” for the welfare of the people, support and further local tourism, implement necessary infrastructure projects, the building of more schools and farm to market roads, and others” Fajardo said.

“Scholarship grants to deserving students of D2 will also be provided together with livelihood support system to small scale entrepreneurs and those in the transport industry like tricycle and jeepney drivers,” Fajardo added. (ai/mtvn)
