CEBU BUSINESSMEN PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR BBM-SARA UNITEAM

MANILA — More than 50 small and medium entrepreneurs from Cebu who tried to keep their businesses afloat during the pandemic threw their full support behind the BBM-SARA Uniteam during a simple ceremony in Mandaue City Friday morning.

The Businessmen ng Bayan Movement of the Philippines (BBM), led by their president Benjie Hortelano, expressed optimism that the business climate will recover after the debilitating pandemic under a Marcos administration.

“BBM is rooting for the BBM-SARA Uniteam,” the group’s members, who vowed to increase their number to 1,000, said in unison.

Both Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and vice presidential bet Mayor Sara Duterte continued to lead all formal (methodological) and random, real-time man on the street presidential and vice-presidential preferential surveys nationwide.

Marcos thanked his supporters and reminded them that the recent nationwide “unity ride” caravan, which was held last week symbolizes the Filipinos’ readiness to rally behind his leadership.

“The caravan was not only a display of support for my candidacy but it was also symbolic because it fosters unity,” Marcos told the businessmen.

The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer also acknowledged the effort of the business group and the business sector, in general, because they also bore the brunt of the economic burden at the height of the pandemic.

“I cannot repay you for all your sacrifices by merely expressing my gratitude. Let us continue what we have started positively towards unity to enable us to overcome the crisis that we are facing,” Marcos said.

Cebu businessmen showed their resiliency during the height of the medical crisis and the province even managed to emerge as top three destinations during the pandemic. (ai/mtvn)
