MANILA — Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Dionardo Carlos lauds the effort and major accomplishments of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 for the overwhelming success of its one-day simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO).
“This is a testament that we have a working police force gearing towards its prime duty to enforce the law. This is so timely that we are intensifying our anti-criminality efforts. With the arrest of the suspects, we are simply showing that there is a legal procedure that we strictly adhere to and that we give them their day in court,” Carlos said.
A total of 376 law violators were jailed. These comprised 196 wanted persons, 22 suspects on illegal drugs, 28 individuals on loose firearms, and 130 suspects for violation of illegal gambling, illegal logging, and illegal fishing.
Meanwhile, 49 members of the Communist Terrorist Group surrendered to various police units in the region.
On the campaign against illegal drugs, PNP CARAGA implemented 12 search warrants for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and 10 buy-bust operations that resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs with a total Street Value of Php1,551,694.80.
The PNP vows to sustain vigilance and proactive community monitoring especially with the upcoming 2022 elections where ‘guns and goons’ may be revived to bring a threat to security. (ai/mtvn)
