MANILA — As the world celebrates the 73rd anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) on Friday, 25,902 personnel of the Philippine National Police were promoted under the Second Level Uniformed Personnel Regular promotion (25,818) and Fourth Quarter Police Lieutenant Colonel (PLtCol) Continuous Promotion Programs.
PNP Chief Police General Dionardo Carlos administered the oath of office to 150 newly promoted police officers assigned at the National Headquarters in symbolic ceremonies simultaneous with similar oath-taking ceremonies in the Police Regional Offices and National Support Units.
“Today’s occasion marks two important milestones in the Philippine National Police organization’s colorful history. First, we join the nation and the whole world in the celebration and commemoration of the International Human Rights Day, as 73 years ago or December 10, 1948, to be exact; the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the very first global expression of inalienable rights to which all persons are entitled. Second, we witness the oath-taking our 2nd Level Promotees”, PGen Carlos said.
“Nawa’y ang pagtitipon na ito ay magsilbing “inspirational at motivational drive” sa inyong lahat upang manatiling tapat sa inyong panunumpa sa publiko na gawin ang inyong mga tungkulin nang may dangal at integridad tungo sa mas mabuting pamamahala at pag-unlad”, PGen Carlos added.
Of the 25,902 promotees under the 2nd Level Uniformed Personnel Regular Promotion, 688 were promoted to the rank of Police Major; 971 were promoted to Police Captain; 89 for Police Lieutenant Rank; 1,211 Police Executive Master Sergeants (PEMS); 2,656 Police Chief Master Sergeants (PCMS); 3,340 Police Senior Master Sergeants (PSMS); 4,007 Police Master Sergeants (PMSg); 6,704 Police Staff Sergeants (PSSg); and 6,152 were promoted to the rank of Police Corporal (PCpl).
