The Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) will again vaccinate 1 million eligibles during the second part of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” to be held on December 15-17, 2021.
“CALABARZON still has the highest number of unvaccinated individuals in the country at 3,103,954 plus another 2.4 million individuals who are also due for their second doses in the coming months. Although, we are ready to take the challenge, we will continue to aim and achieve our daily target of 300,000+ jabs daily, in order to lessen the number into a minimal eligible target,”Regional Director Ariel I. Valencia stated.
CALARZON already has a total of 5,714,418 fully vaccinated individuals and 8,358,796 individuals have taken at least one jab with 2,634,378 waiting for their second dose.
“We are again requesting for the support of the local government units of the region, including our partner agencies, volunteers and even the assistance of the private sector in order to make these three vaccination days as successful as the first.”
“Hindi po ito kakayanin ng health sector lamang at napakaimportante po ng tulong ng bawat-isa sa atin upang ito ay matagumpay na maisagawa,” Valencia said.
Quezon has the highest number of unvaccinated individuals in the region with 790,492 followed by Rizal with 649,021, Cavite with 645,111, Laguna – 533,401 and Batangas – 485,959.
During the first “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” held last November 28-2021-December 1, 2021, CALABARZON topped the regions with the most jabs given at 1,148,931 doses.
The province of Laguna ranked first with the highest number of doses administered at 272,405 followed by Cavite with 269,506 then Batangas with 258,043. Rizal and Quezon recorded a total of 180,049 and 168,928, respectively.
“We need everyone’s support to make this vaccination campaign successful.and we need to provide our people the only protection they need against the Covid virus. I again implore all the LGUs to extend their assistance in this coming three-day vaccination days,” Valencia stated. (mtvn)
