The Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) continues to encourage individuals to get vaccinated for their protection now that the Omicron virus has been detected in the country.

“I advised every residents to complete their vaccination, i.e., first and second dose plus booster jab, to be well protected against any variant of the Covid-19 virus.

The first and second day of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan 2” in CALABARZON has been successful with a total of 113,147 jabs administered. Batangas province has the highest number of vaccine jabs delivered with 33,122 followed by Cavite with 24,880, Quezon – 19,277, Rizal 18,446 and Laguna with 17,422.

Director Valencia extends his utmost appreciation to all teams who contributed and extended support for the continuing success of the 3-day national vaccination days.

According to the December 16, 2021 DOH Regional Daily Accomplishment Vaccination Report (as of 3PM), CALABARZON still leads the list of regions with the highest number of vaccinated individuals followed by Region 3 and 6.

“We will endeavor to vaccinate each and every eligible resident and achieve our target of at least 70% herd immunity.

A three-day “Booster Vaccination Drive” will also be conducted on December 20-22, 2021 for individuals who completed their first and second dose.

Valencia further reminded residents to continue to follow health protocols like wearing of face mask, social distancing and personal hygiene. We need to do our part in helping to eliminate the spread of the virus. (mtvn)
