India – About 250 dogs were killed by a pack of murderous monkeys out for revenge against local canines in a small Indian village in Maharashtra’s Beed district, about 300 miles east of Mumbai.

The monkeys have been seen dragging dogs to the top of buildings and trees where they dropped them to their deaths.

According to a report by News 18, a local media, the raging primates started targeting puppies and small dogs about a month ago after a group of canines killed their infant monkey.

Villagers said the primates are out for revenge and in the nearby Lavool village, not a single dog survived the purge.

Residents in Lavool, sought the help of the forest department to help them deal with the situation but not a single monkey was caught during an operation they have set up.

When the villagers decided to take action themselves and tried to wrangle up the beasts, the simians vented their anger on the locals and are now targeting small children en route to school.

The situation is still being dealt with by local authorities in the district. (ai/mtvn)

A local resident captures an image of one of the monkeys clutching a small dog near the edge of a building. The monkey threw the canine down the street later.
