Anti-COVID vax drive extended in Calabarzon

MANILA — The Department of Health (DOH)-Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) has extended its vaccination activities from December 20-23, 2021 to accommodate more unvaccinated individuals who are voluntarily proceeding to vaccination sites in various parts of the region.

Regional Director Ariel I. Valencia disclosed that more people are now more concern about their health and safety especially that cases of the new omicron variant has already entered the country.

Valencia also emphasized that the single dose vaccine is an “important choice” for those who can’t return for multiple vaccinations.

As of December 20, 2021, CALABARZON has administered a total of 748,547 jabs. A total of 30,687 were given first doses while 658,219 have received their second dose. For the single dose Janssen vaccine, 19,900 were vaccinated and a total of 39,741 booster shots were given.

The continuing vaccination activities this week targets the individuals who are scheduled for their second shot.

Valencia likewise extended his appreciation and gratitude to local government units and partners agencies for their continuing support of the ongoing vaccination activities. (ai/mtvn)
