MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has expressed readiness to assist the Department of Health in the forthcoming COVID-19 pediatric vaccination for 5 to 11 years old age group this January 2022.
“This will be crucial since we are dealing with the younger segment of the population but the PNP has already a template in place,” PNP Chief General Dionardo Carlos said.
Carlos emphasized that many vaccination drives have proven the capability of the PNP personnel on securing the different venues, so this won’t need much adjustment.
The Chief PNP also assured the availability of trained vaccinators from the PNP Medical Reserve Force who have served in earlier government vaccination programs.
“We remind the parents or guardians who shall accompany the children to always be watchful and be an example in following the minimum public health standards,” Carlos appealed to the supposed adult companion.
The PNP will assist in the unhampered delivery and transport of the vaccines to designated venues and augment medical personnel and possible additional venues to cater to more children who will receive the jabs.
We are just awaiting specific instructions and coordination on the scheme which shall be implemented in the next wave of mass vaccinations. (ai/mtvn)
