Mandaluyong City –The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Intelligence and Investigation Service (IIS) and Special Enforcement Service (SES), together with counterpart government law enforcement and intelligence units has on December 27, 2021, launched a joint anti-drug operation which resulted in the confiscation of an estimated 77.5 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, worth around PhP534,750,000.00 along with various drug paraphernalia.
Authorities found the shabu packed in clear plastic bags and some were concealed in red packaging labeled as Chinese tea.
The PDEA together with the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Intelligence Service-Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP), and Joint Counterintelligence Task Force NOAH (JCTF-NOAH) conducted the buy-bust operation at around 6 pm last Monday at the 35th floor of a condominium complex in Mandaluyong City.
Arrested during the operation were 32-year-old businessman Mike Bautista Abac; and 37-year-old cook Edison Bolos De Guzman, both residents of Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati City.
