In a simple turn-over ceremony held at Tanauan City South Central School four days before Christmas Assistant Schools Division Superintendent-Officer- In-charge Roger F. Opulencia received 1,711 android cellphones for school teachers from City Administrator Rizaldrin Epimaco Magpantay who represented Tanauan City mayor Sweet Halili. Together with the handouts were the additional 11,066 tablets for Grade 4-6 public school students. The school children were so happy with their gifts from Mayor Angeline Sweet Halili (MASH) and the happiest are not only teachers but also poor parents of the school children. Describing it as a “blatant disregard to public health,” DOH strongly opposed the approval of Senate Bill 2239 or the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-nicotine Regulation Act. The bill is said to be retrogressive and contains several provisions that contradict public health goals and international standards. Millions of cigarette addicts will get angry with DOH.

There will be no more daily bulletin for COVID-19 cases starting January 1, 2022, the DOH announced last week. Information regarding COVID can only be gathered through online updates. It’s really disgusting that newspaper media and TV news will have no information now. Too bad to be true!
