MANILA — The government of the Peoples Republic of China has donated P1 billion worth of military equipment to the Philippine military.
The first batch of equipment arrived last January 16, 2022, which includes rescue and relief equipment, drone systems, detectors, water purification vehicles, ambulances, firetrucks, x-ray machines, EOD robots, bomb disposal suits & transport vehicles; engineering equipment- backhoes, dump trucks, forklifts, and earthmovers.
According to the Department of Defense (DND) a formal turn-over ceremony will be held on February 2022. The remaining equipment will be arriving in batches at a later date. (ai/mtvn)
