“Commission on Elections Rowena Guanzon is corrupt!”
This was the statement made by the first nominee of a party-list who requested anonymity for fear the official may get back at their group and damage their current standing with the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
The informant said his group paid Guanzon a total of P11 million just so their party-list would be included in the ballot.
“Yung secretary niya na assistant niya na lover niya ang tumatanggap ng pera,” he stated.
According to him, Guanzon’s being a lesbian is not a secret among employees and fellow commissioners in the poll body.
The source said he believes his group is not the only victim of Guanzon.
“Mayroon pang iba na partylist na katulad ko na biktima niya,” he declared. “Nagagawang negosyo tuloy ang pag-papa-accredit ng mga partylist dahil may Guanzon sa Comelec.”
The informant claimed he has strong evidence against Guanzon as there is a paper trail for every transaction they had with the commissioner.
It may be recalled that in 2019, Ronald Cardema of the Duterte Youth Party-list, claimed Guanzon hired an emissary to ask him for favors in exchange for the approval of the accreditation of his group in time for the May 2019 elections.
This reporter sought the side of Commissioner Guanzon but the landlines in her office were all unattended. Her cellphone number, meanwhile, was out of reach.
In observance of fairness, this media outfit reserves space for her response. (John Aguillar/ mtvn)
