MANILA — The drone operator responsible for the photo of the purported 40,000 attendees during the campaign rally of Leni Robredo in Echague, Isabela last March 12 has surfaced and contradicted the bloated crowd estimate by the presidential pretender’s camp.
According to a Facebook user Philip Ceasar Cadabuna, he was hired by the team of Leni Robredo to do a live feed coverage of the Grand Rally at the Echague Municipal Hall on Saturday.
“This photo was mine. I was hired by team vp leni/Kiko for Facebook live feed coverage. I was also the official media documentary officer of our municipality under informations office. This shot was taken for our municipal record for crowd check. We always di this shot kasi sanay naman kami mag host and magkaron ng malaking festival dito sa amin,” Cadabuna said.
Cadabuna also said that he has no intention of accusing or putting anyone in a bad light, but rather, he wants the truth to come out.
He added that he had no idea what the Robredo camp’s crowd estimate was based on.
“I don’t have any intention to destroy or what so ever. Ang akin lang din dito is yung katotohanan. How could I report if I don’t have the actual crowd estimated shot. One thing more numbers Don’t lie. My report was estimated 4k to 5k person ang nasa municipal ground. I don’t know kung saan nila kinuha ang 10k 20k 40k na inerereport nila,” Cadabuna added.
Also, netizens have pointed out the seeming irony in the Robredo camp’s slogan “Sa gobyernong tapat, aangat ang lahat.” as it is in stark contrast to the lying and misinformation tactics it employs to create an impression of ‘groundswell’ support for her candidacy. (ai/mtvn)
During the Isabela event, Robredo and Pangilinan scoffed at the idea of the ‘Solid North’ being behind presidential front-runner Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.
They said that the 10,000 attendees in the event, by far the smallest among their events, signals a crack in the ‘Solid North’ vote.
However, the recent survey results of Pulse Asia showed Robredo having single-digit voter preference in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Region 1, and Region 2 – the areas known as ‘Solid North.’
The Robredo camp has landed in hot water due to its claim that 70,000 people attended their event at Paglaum Stadium in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, after netizens pointed out that it is virtually impossible to fit that crowd in a 15,000-capacity venue.
Netizens compared the photos taken during the Negros Occidental rally to foreign events that drew in large crowds where many noted glaring disparities suggesting that the images were altered.
Earlier, Sen. Panfilo Ping Lacson confirmed that the Robredo camp had been infiltrated by the New People’s Army (NPA) after receiving information from former communist cadre Jeffrey “Ka Eric” Celiz.
Lacson said that NPA operatives attended Robredo’s campaign rally in Cavite and that each attendee was given P500.
Last week, President Rodrigo Duterte said he has also received an intelligence report about a conspiracy between communist groups and “yellow” forces and another unnamed group to create chaos in the upcoming elections.
“What I really am afraid of is the report of the intelligence community … There’s a sort of a grouping of communists, the yellows and another group,” President Duterte said in an interview with SMNI.
