MANILA — Two drug suspects, including a barangay chairman in Matalom, Leyte were caught selling shabu during a joint Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Agency anti-illegal drugs operation last Tuesday.
Citing the reports of Police Brigadier General Bernard M Banac, PRO8 Regional Director, Police General Dionardo B Carlos announced the arrest of two listed high value individuals identified as ROGELIO DAÑO a.k.a “Elmer”, 57 years old, Brgy. Chairman of Brgy. Sta. Fe, Matalom Leyte and ABC President of Matalom, Leyte and CESARIO DAÑO LAMBUJON, 35 years old, both residents of Brgy. Sta. Fe, Matalom, Leyte.
Initial investigation revealed that DAÑO and LAMBUJON were arrested at around 7:15 in the evening in Baywalk area, Brgy. Kalanggaman, Bato, Leyte by joint operatives of Bato Municipal Police Station, Matalom MPS and PDEA VIII-RSET, Leyte PO.
Confiscated from them were three transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 100 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P680,000.00, one white envelope containing cash amounting to P15,000.00, one-unit black Nokia cp, one-unit white Toyota Fortuner with PNR: HAA 5717, buy-bust money, and one-unit black digital weighing scale.
The two arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence are now under the custody of PDEA 8 for proper disposition.
“Our end game strategy to fight illegal drugs has just started and we assure the public that we will be doing our best to put an end to the drug menace plaguing our country,” Carlos said. (ai/mtvn)
