BBM, Sara’s message of unity and continuation of Digong’s projects makes them unreachable —political analyst

MANILA — With barely six weeks before the scheduled May 9 elections, presidential frontrunner Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., and his running mate Davao Mayor Sara Duterte are leading in all recent surveys mainly due to the right messaging and better campaign strategies.

This was the assessment of political analyst Prof. Dindo Manhit in a previous radio interview, saying the message of “unity and the continuation of Duterte legacy,” is the biggest factor why the BBM-Sara UniTeam has maintained its big lead against their rivals.

Yun ang dominant discussion na napapansin namin,” Manhit said, referring to the sentiments of the majority of the voting population.

In the latest Pulse Asia poll, Marcos improved his voter preference score to 60 percent while his closest opponent, Leni Robredo, had 15 percent.

Duterte also increased her margin as well over Sen. Tito Sotto after garnering 53 percent, in the vice-presidential race.

Based on the Laylo Research poll which had 3,000 respondents, Marcos was picked by 63 percent, while Robredo was chosen only by 17 percent, or a margin of 46 percent.

In the vice-presidential contest, 54 percent also chose Duterte, with her closest opponent trailing by a mile at 25 percent.

In the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, Marcos was preferred by 50 percent of respondents against Robredo’s 19 percent.

Duterte, on the other hand, was ahead of Sotto by 11 points, 44 percent against 33 percent.

Prof. Manhit also noted that the joining of forces of the Marcos and Duterte clan could also be the factor in the UniTeam’s lead.

Marcos. So dapat patuloy na ipakita na sila ay talagang UniTeam,” he claimed.

Other candidates are trailing in the surveys mainly due to wrong messaging and campaign strategies, Manhit averred.

Marcos that’s why maganda ang kanyang numero,” the professor said. (ai/mtvn)
