The Senate Committee of the Whole has stepped into the nonstop, large-scale smuggling of agri-products that is crippling the livelihood of farmers and fishermen while hampering the country’s economic recovery from the pandemic. PDP-Laban now supports BBM. PDP-Laban was formed then to oust Ferdinand Marcos from his position, but now they are moving to return Marcos to the top position of the country. Maybe they realized that the Marcos regime is the best ever in the development and progress of the Philippines. Believe it or not!

P-Duterte’s wish on his 77th birthday last March 28 was for the conduct of clean and honest elections on May 9. Meaning he will not conduct cheating this coming election!

Two phreatomagmatic eruptions were recorded on Taal Volcano last week. DOH warned residents near the volcano to beware of sulfur dioxide floating in the air which is harmful to the body’s health and also the ashfalls which also contain chemicals harmful to human beings. The Philippines reiterated its full sovereignty over disputed Scarborough Shoal despite the claim of Chinese ambassador that it’s China’s inherited territory. This dispute will be inherited by the next president because for the past decade of problems at West Philippine Sea, nothing has been decided by China which is favorable to the Philippines.

DSWD, DILG, and Comelec signed a tripartite agreement to protect the delivery of social services from partisan politics as the May 9 general elections approach. But some mayoral and congressional candidates continue to implement illegal TUPAD and other DOLE programs which remove the safeguard from pro-poor program beneficiaries who are unwittingly and knowingly used in political campaigns as coordinators.

Over 5,800 residents have been displaced from their houses in high risks barangays due to Taal Volcano unrest, according to Batangas Provincial DRRMO. They are equivalent to 1632 families which surely can get aids from aspiring candidates of affected towns and cities in the province. Hope so, but surely that will be in exchange of their votes. China’s Coast Guard ships always shadowed Philippine Coast Guard vessels in Bajo De Masinloc by sailing dangerously close to Philippine Coast Guards earlier this month, marine authority reported. It has always been a bullying move from China , but the government has no real firm actions against them except to protest it to the ambassador from China. But still there is no change from Chinese moves, because the vessels are still there until now.

CBCP released pastoral letter on the 2022 national and local elections last week to appeal against vote-buying and vote-selling. Each vote is really important. So important that it is sought, bought and even stolen. Our vote is our voice and decision. When we sell our vote, we lose our voice and decision. But, how are those who really needs money and was given by a politician through his heart and was given magnanimously? Maybe that’s the greatest question of today.
