Big transport group supporting MarSo set to launch series of motorcades after Holy Week

MANILA — A big transport group based in Cavite backing the country’s newest political tandem MarSo (Marcos-Sotto) is set to launch a series of motorcades in at least three provinces of Calabarzon.

A high-ranking official from one of the biggest transports group who requested anonymity until the formal launch of MarSo soon after Holy Week, said their group pushing for the MarSo tandem will hold major motorcades in Montalban, Rizal; Sto Tomas City, Batangas; and Imus, Cavite.

Similar activities are also being mulled by the group’s national secretariat in Calamba, Laguna and Lucena City in Quezon.

A ranking Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) official, who requested anonymity, claimed the Marcos-Sotto tandem is fast gaining ground of support from Sotto’s mother political party as some of them are also pro-BBM.

Bongbong Marcos of UniTeam is the leading presidential contender. He currently enjoys a good measure of margin from his presidential opponents in Leni Robredo, Manny Pacquiao, Isko Moreno, Ping Lacson, and Leody de Guzman..

“Ito na. After a series of meetings, yung consensus ng lahat ay pabor at tanggap ang Marcos-Sotto tandem. Both platform kasi ng dalawa focus sa unity, creation of jobs and programs sa post-COVID 19 pandemic. After Holy Week itotodo na namin ang pagpapakila sa MarSo. Ito na ang MarSo..hanggang Mayo na,” said one of the convenor of MarSo.

‘Actually, ready na rin ang aming mga motorcade and community campaign in various barangays in Quezon City, Rizal, Cavite and Batangas,” added the convenor.

The MarSo tandem has already created a buzz after a Maharlika TV roving team captured a group of tricycle drivers in San Mateo, and Montalban in Rizal province applying their routes with MarSo tarps attached to the backside of their sidecars.

A similar group of tricycle drivers was also caught in Novaliches in Quezon City doing a mini-motorcade with similar tarpaulins attached to the backside of their trikes.

The tarps all carried slogans that says “Sa MarSo, Masa ang Panalo.”

However, officials of the NPC will neither confirm nor deny that MarSo already enjoys an official approval from the party although a party insider claimed that several members especially those in the provinces are highly supportive of the newest cross-party partnership.

“On the ground, maraming pabor na itambal si SP Sotto kay Marcos. Hindi naman naming sila pinipigilan kung sino ang Presidente na susuportahan nila basta ang VP solid tayo kay SP Sotto,” said an NPC insider.

Just recently, no less than the presidential candidate Ping Lacson, Sotto’s original partner, announced that he is open for Sotto to partner with other presidential wannabes as long it will help Sotto’s victory in the coming election.

Unlike Lacson, who is lagging behind in all survey results, Sotto still has a fighting chance as he consistently placed a close second to survey leader Sara Duterte, BBM’s running mate at UniTeam.

“Malaki pa ang chance ni SP Sotto, kaya kami lalo na ang transport sector ay patuloy na nangangampaya at nagpapaliwanag sa ating mga kababayan na may karapat-dapat na maging VP si Senator Sott. Sa experience at sa leadership, numero si SP Sotto,” added the convenor.
