MANILA — Two separate undertakings have been concretized through the formal signing of the Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs) between the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund, Inc. (PSMBFI) on Monday that allows PDEA to operate continuously the PDEA Academy within the Philippine National Police Academy and a transition agreement for relocation of PSMBFI Regional Extension Offices, respectively.
The forging of efforts between the three organizations was held on May 2, 2022, at Camp Crame, Quezon City with PNP Chief, Police General Dionardo B Carlos.
The MOA between the PNP and PDEA allows the latter to continuously use its PDEA Academy, infrastructures, buildings, and facilities that were constructed within the PNPA inside Camp Castañeda, Silang Cavite, for a period of three years which reckons from the effectivity of the said Accord. Thereafter, the PNP and PDEA may renegotiate an extension period on a year-to-year basis.
Meanwhile, the PNP’s Agreement with PSMBFI concerns the Transition Agreement for the Relocation of PSMBFI Regional Extension Offices out of the PNP Camps as an offshoot of a careful review by the country’s premier police agency of all its Camp Master Development Plans for the National Headquarters, Police Regional Offices, and Police Provincial Offices.
“We come again with confidence and willingness to engage, bearing in mind that after intensive conversations and interactions between the said parties, we have laid out clear, concrete, calculated the mutually acceptable agreements premised on optimizing the utilization of PNP land resources as we enhance organizational effectiveness and in order to address the demand for additional lots, buildings, and spaces needed by newly created police offices and expanding support units. This is in keeping with the sacred obligation of the PNP to deliver efficient and effective public service for the Filipino people”, PGen Carlos said.
“I extend my sincerest appreciation and gratitude to the PSMBFI and PDEA with the hope that you will remain to be our strong partners and allies. Rest assured of the PNPs continuing effort to attain our common vision for a more peaceful and progressive Philippines,” PGen Carlos added. (ai/mtvn)
