MANILA — The transport group pushing for MarSo or the tandem of leading presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and Senate President Tito Sotto makes one final push on its information drive on the road with a motorcade, through the long stretch of Aguinaldo Highway from Bacoor City to Dasmarinas City on Thursday in vote-rich Cavite.
A native of Cavite himself, Philippine Transport Monitor (PhilTram) national chairman Aio Bautista said he expects the full participation of PhilTram’s motorcycle riders as they hit the road anew in an effort to push the winning Marcos-Sotto tandem higher into the electorate’s awareness with four days to go before E-Day.
Cavite is considered as the bailiwick of Tito Sotto’s running mate for president in Senator Ping Lacson but the latter accordingly “approves what could help” his partner win in the coming elections on May 9 a radio report said.
Complete with jingles and campaign paraphernalia, PhilTram’s caravan will depart early morning Thursday in Barangay Niog, Bacoor City; will proceed towards SM Bacoor along Aguinaldo Highway, proceed to Anabu and then to Dasmarinas City, expecting to hit at least 200,000 “optics.”
PhilTrams expects a similar if not better acceptance from the public on its Cavite barnstorm like what the transport group got from the public on their Northern sojourn where they toured and campaigned for what they call the “perfect combination” to the people of Tuguegarao, Aparri, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Laoag, La Union and many more.
“We gained so much support from the public during the past few days as we launched a massive campaign and caravan in several provinces and key cities in Novaliches, Quezon City; Sto Tomas City and Tanauan City in Batangas, in Montalban, Rizal,” Bautista said.
“Nagtatanong nga ang marami sa aming mga nakausap na bakit ngayon lang lumabas ang partnership nina Marcos at Sotto. Hindi pa man, talaga pa lang ito na ang prepared nilang tambalan pala sa halalan.”
Cavite is one of the vote-rich provinces in Luzon and Governor Junvic Remulla already gave his solid support to Marcos’ presidential candidacy.
“Susuyurin na namin itong Cavite. Itotodo na naming ang pagpapakilala sa MarSo. I’m sure madali itong matatanggap ng masa kasi parehong team players sina BBM at Senator Sotto,” Bautista said.
“Yung cross-party partnership, talagang ginagawa yan ng mga voters. Pero kung titignan natin ang plataporma ni Marcos yung pagkakaroon ng unifying leadership akmang -akma sa personalidad at nagawa n ani Sotto bilang legislature at Senate President. Kaya sa MarSo, tunay na Masa ang panalo,” added Bautista.
“Leadership by example. Kakayahan at katapangan. For over 30 years sa public service, hindi nadawit sa anumang kontrobersya si Senator Sotto. His program and advocates sa marginalized sector particularly sa transport sector ay talagang akma sa uri ng gobyerno nan ais isulong ni BBM,” added Bautista.
During the KBP-Comelec Vice Presidential Forum on Wednesday, Sotto said if he wins the VP race he can work along with whoever wins the presidency.
“Kakaibang VP. Consensus builder ako. Sa tagal ko sa public service wala akong inaaway. I’m a team player. Kahit di ko kaalyado ang mananalong Preidente, magugustuhan ang programa na ibibigay ko,” said Sotto. (Rami/ai/mtvn)
