PNP seizes P2.5M worth of shabu in drug ops

MANILA – Operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Illegal Drug Division arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized a total P2.5 worth of shabu during separate drug operations on Monday in Pampanga.

PNP3 Regional Director Matthew P. Baccay said the sting buy-bust operation in Brgy. Mawaque Maragul, Mabalacat City, Pampanga has resulted in the arrest of Julius Mariano Guillermo aka Julius, 30.

Recovered in his possession were a total of six (6) pieces of heat-sealed and two (2) pieces of knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing powdered-like shabu weighing 305 grams with an estimated street value of P2,074,000.00.

Meanwhile, operatives from the regional office and Sta. Rita Municipal Police Station arrested Jean Dantes, 53, in a separate operation at Brgy. Dila, Sta Rita, Pampanga. Seized from his possession a three (3) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu with an estimated street value of P374,000.00; one (1) piece keypad cellular phone; one (1) pouch; one (1) piece of P1,000.00 bill; and one (1) weighing scale.

Baccay said that the PNP is continuously conducting pro-active operations against all forms of illegal drugs in the region and will continue on its quest to achieve a drug-free Central Luzon.

Appropriate charges for violations of Sec. 5 and Sec. 11, Art II of RA 9165 are being readied to be filed against the suspects. (EGR/ai/mtvn)
