MANILA — With his appointment as Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) by president-in-waiting Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., broadcaster Erwin Tulfo has been given his marching orders: ‘Digitize the DSWD’s distribution of aid when he takes the agency’s helm.
According to the veteran broadcast journalist, the incoming president intends to smoothen the process of giving aid to those who are in need of assistance from the government.

“Gusto niyang i-digitalized ang pagbibigay ng ayuda sa DSWD para mas mabilis,” Tulfo said in a public briefing.

Besides this, the incoming DSWD head revealed he was also told by Marcos Jr. to ‘clean’ the list of beneficiaries at the agency to ensure those receiving financial aid or relief goods were really qualified.
