MANILA — With Alert Level 1 status retained in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other areas across the archipelago, the national pandemic task force has decided to permit all business establishments to operate at full capacity as long as proof of full vaccination is presented for indoor mass gatherings and other similar activities.

According to an announcement from Malacañan, the decision was made with stiff requirementrs that businesses should ensure their employees and customers are all fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Acting presidential spokesperson secretary Martin Andanar disclosed that the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) had met on Saturday, June 4, to discuss the guidelines and iron out other concerns relative to what should be imposed in areas placed under Alert Level 1.

“Having said this, IATF allowed full 100 percent capacity under alert level 1, subject to presentation of proof of full vaccination before participating in mass gatherings or entry into indoor establishments,” Andanar explained through a statement, citing the task force’s Resolution No. 168-E.

“Before the new rule, the IATF ruled that private offices and government agencies under Alert Level 1 may operate at full capacity but should follow vaccination requirements for onsite work.

Public transport vehicles are also permitted to do the same, without the need for plastic dividers,” the Palace official added.

Also included in the IATF resolution that are to be allowed are religious services, parties, wedding receptions and the likes, as well as the operations of restaurants, barbershops, hair salons, gyms and cinemas in Alert Level 1 areas.

This, however, required that well-fitted face masks will be worn properly at all times, whether outdoors or in indoor private or public establishments, including in public transportation by land, air, or sea, except when eating and drinking, participating in team and individual sports in venues where ventilation standards can be maintained.
