ONE MINUTE AND 24 SECONDS and “The Monster” Naoya Inoue of Japan on Tuesday floored “The Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire in what boxing aficionados described a brutal and stunning second-round knockout.

Inoue’s second victory over Donaire gained him the WBC bantamweight world title in addition to his WBA and IBF belts, and his record 23 wins, 20 of them by knock-out.

To recall, Inoue also beat the 39-year-old Donaire of Talibon, Bohol in a 2019 bout.

In their second encounter at the Super Arena in Saitama, Japan Inoue scored a brutal and decisive second-round stoppage of Donaire.

Referee Michael Griffin saved Donaire when he hit the canvas for a second time after one minute and 24 seconds of round two.
