MANILA — Continuing with its winning ways, MPL PH Season 9 champion RSG PH booked an upper bracket semis appearance at the MSC 2022 following a hard-fought 2-1 win over Myanmar’s vaunted Falcon Esports at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

RSG PH drew first blood as it battled the Myanmarese in the opening game only to see Falcon come back hard to tie the series in Game 2.

From then on, it wasn’t a ‘walk-in-the-park’ for the Pinoy gamers as Falcon gave them the least quarter but eventually eked out a victory in Game 3. RSG mustered the win thanks to EMANN and his Beatrix that scored a 6/1/2 KDA.

“I am happy because there is a worthy opponent here in MSC. The more we are challenged the stronger we get. I am excited for the matches in the upper bracket,” RSG’s team captain and roamer Light said after the match.

RSG’s triumph over Myanmar’s Falcon set up a showdown with its Singaporean counterpart RSG SG which will take place tomorrow, June 16.

Meanwhile, the bid to barge into the winner’s bracket by the country’s other team, Omega Esports’, ended in a nightmare as they buckled to the Malaysian team’s onslaught to end up dead in the water in their best-of-three series with a near 1-2 loss.

The Pinoys failed attempt kicked them to the lower bracket of the tournament where they await the loser of RRQ Hoshi versus EVOS Singapore match-up. (ai/mtvn)
