MANILA – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) today reminded the public who are holding the new 1000-Peso bill to take good care of the polymer banknote.
“Proper handling must be observed to keep it clean and strong,” BSP said.
The new polymer banknote can last two (2) to five (5) times longer than old paper bills.
“Always keep them flat, clean and use them to buy goods and payment for services. BSP also reminded the public not to do the following :
❌ DO NOT write or put marks on the banknote
❌ DO NOT excessively fold or crumple the banknote
❌ DO NOT cut, put holes, or staple them
❌ DO NOT damage or remove any of its security features
❌ DO NOT iron them
❌ DO NOT expose the banknote to high temperatures or place it in an open flame
❌ DO NOT expose the banknote to toxic chemicals
