EASTWOOD CITY, QUEZON CITY — It was a ‘day of vengeance’ as the Philippines’ Omega Esports took revenge after being relegated to the lower bracket in the ongoing MSC 2022 in Malaysia after suffering a defeat on the second day of the tournament last Tuesday held at the prestigious Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center in Kuala Lumpur.

Omega with undefeated RSG PH both scored a sweep over their respective opponents to advance to the MSC 2022 Playoffs.

RSG, the MPL PH Season 9 champion, scored 3-0 over Malaysia’s hometown favorite Orange Esports to set up an upper bracket finals showdown with Indonesian powerhouse RRQ Hoshi—a match that the international Mobile Legends community is raring to see.
“Good luck to RRQ. Let’s do our best,” RSG PH’s coach Gee stated after the match.

Earlier in the day, Omega Esports pave the way for the Philippines’ twin victories after the team scored a hard-to-beat 3-0 sweep over Singapore’s EVOS SG and thus book a lower bracket quarterfinals appearance against Orange Esports.

Seemingly at its best when at risk of getting eliminated from a tournament, it can be remembered that Omega Esports also climbed its way out of the lower bracket to set up a showdown against RSG PH in the grand finals of MPL PH Season 9.

“This is what we got, the lower bracket. The upper bracket does not want us. To me, it is the same; be it upper or lower bracket. A strong team is a strong team. We are stronger in the lower bracket,” Omega’s gold medalist Kelra enthusiastically pointed out. (ai/mtvn)
